What began as a grassroots effort to connect neighbors through art has grown into one of Austin’s most cherished cultural traditions, bringing thousands together each November to explore, discover and celebrate our city’s creative spirit.

When Big Medium, the organization that founded and grew the Tour, announced it could no longer carry the program forward, the future of this beloved event was uncertain. After years of involvement, we felt compelled to ensure the Tour’s survival and continued growth. 

At Almost Real Things, we are deeply honored to have been selected to carry this tradition forward. We stepped in at a moment of vulnerability because we believe the Austin Studio Tour is more than an event—it’s part of the city’s creative infrastructure, keeping artists visible and connected to the community they inspire. Our mission is to preserve the openness and accessibility that have defined the Tour for 23 years while building a stronger, more sustainable foundation for its future.

100% of your donation goes directly to the Austin Studio Tour, covering maps, signage, artist support, marketing and outreach that make this event free and accessible for everyone. Surplus funds will seed next year’s Tour, enabling our team to start planning early to continue to grow this tradition and inspire people for years to come.
