🕰️ We're reminiscing ten years of print publications at Almost Real Things! We started a free pocket-size magazine to promote people with passion projects and everything spiraled from there 🌀

We share stories about the covers, artists and what we learned along the way from Issue 01 in 2016 to the @austinstudiotour Guidebook this past November + a few exclusive stories we’ve never shared before :p

👉 Touch the Art is back for its 4th year! Our engaging, accessible art experience gets better (and more touchable) every time.

🙌 The fun starts now with our Touch the Art Collective: a 12-week mentorship program with a $750 stipend to work directly with our team and the art students from the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (TSBVI) to build tactile, immersive installations.

Six of you will embark on this life-changing experience that will challenge you and push you out of your comfort zone. It's seriously amazing and the payoff is so great once attendees begin to ooh and ahh as they experience your creation.

Open to artists of all mediums in Austin.

🫰✨ and just like that it's 2026 and we're hitting the ground running bc there's so much good work to be done. Since day 1 we've backed the doers, the people who bring positive progress to the world.

We're so thankful to be part of this powerful community with you, a community that we saw grow significantly last year, in both quality and development 🔥

When we support each other, we all grow together. THAT'S the energy we're doubling down on this year.

Everyone does it in their own way. For us, that means:

🌟 Explaining what we do and how we can help more effectively on our website

🌟 Growing our team to increase our capacity and efficiency

🌟 Expanding the value our ART Club membership as a way to share more opportunities, learnings and invites

🌟 Leveraging our @artbustx to get more people to more art

🌟 Holding space for doers of all kinds through our exhibitions and collaborations at @2324atx + our ART Gallery at @canopyaustin

🌟 Bringing more people together through our two signature events this year: the 4th annual Touch the Art and the 24th annual @austinstudiotour

It's going to be another big year. Realistically over 2,000 of you will be involved with us, creating inspiring things for over 100,000 of you to enjoy.

That's crazy and we love it. Let's do this! 💖
