Summer Spaulding
Iβve been an artist since age 5 and began oil painting at 9. While at UT Austin, I fell in love with hand-building abstract clay sculptures and designing a line of ceramic jewelry sold across the U.S. Iβve participated in gallery shows, festivals and private commissions. During the pandemic, I began exploring abstract collage and mixed media. Fascinated by my great-great-grandfather, who managed circuses, I have been inspired by his ledgers filled with photos, tickets and glimpses of the circus life in the 1920s. My latest works are collage, painting and 3-D pieces.
