Plein Air Austin is a 501c3 nonprofit organization established in 2003 by a group of seven Austin women artists, who simply wanted to paint together. The term “en plein air” is french, for painting in the fine arts tradition of creating original works of art outdoors from direct observation. We currently have over 50 member artists, both professional and non professional painters, from every walk of life, working in every painting medium.

What TO expect

Plien Air Austin (PAA) at EASTBOUND Features 12+ landscape painters & designers exhibiting original artwork available for purchase. Member artists will be painting en plein air in the courtyard from 12-6 PM on both weekends. Free parking is in the large parking garage behind Eastbound Buildings, then walk through the courtyard to the gallery in the Lobby of Bldg 1. PAA artists create fine works of art in every medium of painting in the tradition of direct observation, depicting the beauty that Austin has to offer. This is a family-friendly event.
