Metalworking
My mediums are steel, aluminum and copper, which are then patinated, resulting in unexpected outcomes. I’m drawn to the dichotomy between the hard surfaces of my materials and the softness of flower petals, a motif seen throughout my work. My newest area of exploration is the use of tiny, painted words written in multiple languages. Worldwide, humans are immersed in language every day from reading to writing to listening and speaking. In this daily flood of words, “I love you” and “thank you” are the two most important messages to express.
