I, Jennifer Pate, am the artist behind Maridad Studio. I create whimsical yet thought provoking figurative illustrations that tap into the uncanny and imaginative spaces of mundane life. I am constantly absorbing new inspiration from the culturally diverse food scene, uniquely crafted cocktails, and personal interests in exploring and understanding the nature of the world around me. By reflecting on my own experience as a Hispanic queer female artist, I produce surreal depictions as a way to expand on limiting structures of identity.
