Mixed Media
In a quasi-surrealist style I call “Contemporary Narrative Realism,” my art tells stories by blending representational content with stylistic adventurism. Think Dali meets Rockwell. My recent work includes tactile and dimensional elements integrated with the painted canvas, and seeks to define in the painted image and repurposed object the connection between humanity and divinity, real and surreal, nature and spirit.

What TO expect

ALL THINGS NEW is a mixed media exhibit combining Narrative Realist Lawrence Jolly’s painted imagery with acquired objects to create a visual compendium of the human condition. Through it, royalty is accorded to old, common, and banal artifacts and brought together in a cerebral mileu of visual story-telling. Together and separately these artworks explore themes surrounding global, social, psychological and spiritual import. This exhibit reflects the progression of years working simultaneously in both 2D narrative realism and 3D iconography, come together as an integrated body of work.
