I create textile-inspired artwork from the pages of vintage texts, manuals and advertisements, taking the form of “reconstructions,” three-dimensional tapestries and abstract portraits. Each work is created from a single source material that I deconstruct so that I no longer see it in the form it was originally presented, looking to uncover repeating images, colors and ideas that will establish the basis of the ultimate artwork. The act of re-weaving the original source material culminates in an abstract, multi-layered narrative that embodies the ideas uncovered in the creation process.
