Julie Alexander is an artist based in Austin and the Oregon coast, whose artworks draw viewers into shared moments of fleeting beauty in relationships and nature. Julie works with powdered ink on paper, photography and mixed media assemblages to explore themes of interdependence with others and our natural world. Her current projects include portraits that capture brief and intimate connections; layered sculptural scenes that invite reflection on personal relationships and desires; and photographs of found objects that evoke the sudden breath of awe at encountering beauty in nature.
