Jessica Fontenot
I draw and paint our everyday surroundings—buildings, trucks, overpasses—to reveal the inherent beauty of our world that we often ignore. I am curious about place in how it lives in our memory and how every bit of our world holds a story. And how place is constantly evolving with development and city changes. I have drawn dozens of Austin establishments, like Donn’s Depot, Cisco’s and Hole in the Wall, and some since gone, like Hut’s Hamburgers and Mugshots.
