I’m a portrait and figurative artist, born to artist parents and raised between northern New Jersey and my father’s native Tehran, Iran. An Austinite since 2007, my work often explores contrasts, shaped by the different landscapes and cultures of my upbringing. I prefer working in series, much like songs on an album, to fully explore a concept across multiple pieces. My current series, Convex, offers a window of color into an otherwise grayscale world, with acrylic and colored pencil to further emphasize the contrast.
