As an oil painter, I challenge the refined expectation of the medium by creating deliberately silly, uncouth art. My creative process is play-based—I want to spend as much time giggling as possible, and I want viewers to do the same. To that end, I use humorous subjects to explore “sweatier” topics like anxiety, disconnection, and the millennial experience. My current series Feral Girls uses bright colors and vermin to discuss the messy delights and pains of girlhood.
