I am a studio artist and teacher. I received his MFA in 2010. The visible artistic process and immediacy in my work is inspired by the vast openness of rural areas and cities of the Southwest region. From working in my studio, to on-site en plein air painting, I observe and absorb the landscape, movement, light, space and other transformations taking place around him. My paintings are an amalgamation of experience, memory and observation, realized through the application of additive and subtractive marks on the surface of my paintings.
