Bring Back The Weird

Drawing
Bring Back the Weird is a group of intersectional women of color on a mission to revive Austin’s unique spirit by amplifying equity and radical authenticity. We celebrate the eccentric and experimental, with work spanning fashion design, portraits, sculpture, jewelry, and events that explore culture, resistance, wellness, joy and the cosmic unknown. Sustainability fuels our process, with most props and projects crafted from reused materials. At our core, we believe creation is alchemy—turning chaos into beauty and beauty into belonging.

What TO expect

Bring Back the Weird (BBTW) features artists Kendra Lee, Raye’vn Harper, Xanya Davis, and Nadia Moreno alongside a sprawling network of creatives and community organizers. With BBTW’s growth, what began as a handful of digital paintings inspired by Austin’s culture—infamous murals and timeless icons—has bloomed into a plethora of pieces, including members’ individual works and a range of collaborative projects. On Day 3 of the Tours, BBTW unleashes Absurdium: a showcase of Austin’s brightest, boldest weirdos in a mini carnival and variety show with drag, drinks, aerials, games, and more!
