world-class creative talent.
Itโs time we treat it that way.
This city thrives because of its creators. They shape our culture,ย influence how we see the world,ย and make Austin the place to be.
Itโs easy to overlook how extraordinarily lucky we are to be surrounded by such talent. For us, this Tour is the time to take it all in, to reflect on our blessings, to invest in our community and to shower artists with recognition and thanks.
Taking this on has meant sleepless nights, sacrifices and a profound responsibility to do it right. We care deeply about honoring the record number of artists who are joining us during this first transformative year. Trust usโweโre just getting started.
Thank you for visiting. Together weโre on our way to explore, elevate artists and prove the impactย of the world-famous Austin Studio Tour.
The Austin Studio Tour has been a highlight of Austinโs cultural calendar since its establishment by Big Medium in 2003.
What began as a grassroots effort to connect neighbors through art has grown into one of Austinโs most cherished cultural traditions, bringing thousands together each November to explore, discover and celebrate our cityโs creative spirit.
When Big Medium, the organization that founded and grew the Tour, announced it could no longer carry the program forward, the future of this beloved event was uncertain. After years of involvement, we felt compelled to ensure the Tourโs survival and continued growth.
At Almost Real Things, we are deeply honored to have been selected to carry this tradition forward. We stepped in at a moment of vulnerability because we believe the Austin Studio Tour is more than an eventโitโs part of the cityโs creative infrastructure, keeping artists visible and connected to the community they inspire. Our mission is to preserve the openness and accessibility that have defined the Tour for 23 years while building a stronger, more sustainable foundation for its future.
Now, weโre counting on you to join us on the adventure.
If youโve ever attended the Tour for free, discovered a favorite artist, or simply felt proud to live in a city where creativity spills into every neighborhood, this is your moment to give back. Your support keeps the doors open for artists and audiences alike, sustaining the connections that form Austinโs creative heartbeat.
100% of your donation goes directly to the Austin Studio Tour, covering maps, signage, artist support, marketing and outreach that make this event free and accessible for everyone. Surplus funds will seed next yearโs Tour, enabling our team to start planning early to continue to grow this tradition and inspire people for years to come.
Supporting artists increases our creative and problem-solving capacity as a city. The Austin Studio Tour has always been a reflection of the city it serves: resilient, imaginative and full of heart. Together, we can make sure it stays that way. Long live the Studio Tour.
Our mission is to provide spaces for instant access to community, where artists can elevate their practice and everyone can contribute to Austinโs culture.
For the past decade weโve provided lucrative opportunities that creators need to succeed through events, mentorships, studio space, rentals and professional development. We want everyone to experience and engage in Austinโs vibrant art scene, building meaningful connections that last.
Our participation in the Austin Studio Tour has evolved over the past nine years, from vending to curating group exhibitions to hosting at our venues and, of course, launching our ART Bus Tour. With each passing year weโve invested more money and energy into connecting artists to enthusiasts during the Tour and year-round.
On our 10-year anniversary, it feels right to step up to carry the Tour into its next chapter. Finding creative solutions for our community is what we do. We are artists after all.
We are honored to be entrusted with the legacy of the Austin Studio Tour.
Since 2003, the Austin Studio Tour has connected artists with art lovers, weaving a strong foundation of community. We first joined the tour in 2016, and it has led to unforgettable memories, lasting friendships and the confidence to fully commit to our creative practice.
Now, as we step into the role of producing the tour, weโre focused on nurturing a platform that genuinely supports the thousands of artists who define this cityโs culture. The Austin Studio Tour is an essential part of Austin, and weโre truly grateful for your support as we begin this new chapter together!
