“Life is pretty much just an estate sale waiting to happen,” is a phrase I use when discussing the origins of my work. My whimsical chimera sculptures are amalgamations of found ceramic dolls and animal figurines. I imagine them spending decades in their original form as truly beloved objects then ending up in a two-dollar bin. I rescue, re-contextualize, and ultimately anthropomorphize these creations. Using supplemental colors and handmade sculptural addenda, I infuse discarded keepsakes with giddy esteem and transforms them into original works of art.
