I was born in Houston to a Chinese immigrant mother and a German-American autistic father, and spent my adolescence in the Rio Grande Valley, where I absorbed the layered culture of Texas border towns. I later lived in Portland, OR, and eventually settled in Austin, immersing myself in the art and music scenes of both cities. I began training in traditional methods of classical realism at Atelier Dojo in Austin, TX, and workshops at Florence Academy of Art in Florence, Italy. My current project is a portrait series highlighting musicians in Austin’s folk and indie scene.
