ANNA LISA LEAL
Iβm from the border town of Laredo, where the land is tough and unrelenting. My artistic vision was molded by the silhouettes of mesquite, cactus and yucca. I lived alongside the creatures that thrive in heat and scarcity. My art is a tribute to these botanical beasts, these animals of arid spaces and the found fragments within that speak of survival and grace. These landscapes arenβt just backdropsβtheyβre my collaborators. They shaped how I see and even how I name each piece. My art is rooted in reverence for the wild, the weathered and the beauty that is sometimes misunderstood.
